I decided to get birth control to prevent an unwanted pregnancy before I was ready. I didn’t want to worry about having a child until I was married and financially stable.
Birth control helped me to grow my family when I was ready and offer a better quality of life for my children.

© 2022 Trust Her shares the commitment to Reproductive Justice (RJ) and equity as established by SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. SisterSong defines RJ as “the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.” The term was originally created by African American women in 1994 leading up to the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo. Today’s RJ framework carries women’s reproductive rights beyond a legal and political debate, prioritizing the economic, social, and health factors that impact reproductive choices and decision-making ability.
